Cherie’s nani IRO Wiksten tank
June 11, 2014

nani IRO month continues today with Cherie from you & mie! I have long admired Cherie’s sewing and creativity, but over the past year or so I have gotten to know her more and I’m really proud to be able to call her my friend. She is sweet, generous, funny, and clever. And she always lends an ear when I’m sweating the small stuff, which is embarrassingly often.

We talk about sewing quite a bit, of course. When Cherie recently asked around for ideas about what to make with the Freedom Garden print she chose for nani IRO month, I very helpfully suggested she make a super hero cape for herself. She hasn’t made one yet but I’m sure that’s right at the top of her to-make list, right Cherie? 😉 I think we all need nani IRO super hero capes, no?

Instead she made a gorgeous Wiksten tank and it was the perfect pattern for such a bold print. Go read about it and see more on her blog here! Also, if you like to sew for kids and like Japanese sewing books (in English!) be sure to check out the Happy Homemade sew-along Cherie is hosting with Meg from Elsie Marley. It’s not too late to join in!

Thanks Gail! I can’t take any credit for the artsy part of this top, that’s all thanks to the fabric!
